The Irish Handicap Pilgrimage Trust – also known as the Irish Pilgrimage Trust – is a registered charity in Ireland. The Trust has been travelling on a pilgrimage and on a holiday to Lourdes with young people with special needs from all over Ireland for the past 40 years.
The groups share a wonderful fun-filled week together in Lourdes, including playing games on the prairie, a day trip up the mountains, large masses full of music and colour and a candle-lit procession in the location itself.
We are hoping to raise much needed funds for the children and young people with special needs to travel to Lourdes on a week’s respite in Easter, 2014. The money will also help to fund a respite centre in Kilcuan Clarenbridge in Co. Galway. Kilcuan welcomes young people with special needs to spend a week together in Ireland during the summer months of July and August. This respite centre provides a home away from home experience for the young people with special needs. The respite also provides a short term break for the families, from caring for their loved ones.
This fundraising night has been set up by Ballinasloe natives Aidan Clogher and Keith Geraghty. They would extremely appreciate your support, everyone is welcome to the night and it is shaping up to be a great night. Tickets cost €10 and will be available at the door on the night in Gullane’s Hotel, on November 16.
One 2 One will be playing on the night, while DJ Keith Geraghty will host a disco of hits from the 70s and 80s afterwards. Hope to see you all there.
